Our Monthly Meetings…The Details

The Compassionate Friends® of Memphis conducts its monthly meetings on the first Thursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hope Church, which is located at 8500 Walnut Grove Road in Memphis.

The Compassionate Friends® is not affiliated with Hope Church, but its leadership has been gracious for many years to offer our group a meeting space.

Parking & Entry

This is a large church. It is important for you to park at Entrance #1 then proceed up the stairs near this entrance and enter through the double doors. You’ll walk up a second set of stairs once you are inside. Hope Church does have an elevator. There is usually a security guard at the desk just past the stairway who can point you to the elevator. If you cannot do stairs, park at Entrance 6 and follow the walkway to the glass doors. If they are locked, call the number for Security posted on the door. You can also call them when you are leaving home and ask them to unlock the door. The number for security is 901-921-8460. You will see an elevator take can take you to the 2nd floor. Go left off of the elevator and you will find the hallway with our meeting room, #224.

The Compassionate Friends® of Memphis meets on the second floor in Room 224, which is located off the back hallway.

Remembrance Table

Bring a photo of your child to share on our remembrance table. If it is the birthday month of your child, bring any additional mementos you would like to share as we also have a birthday table.

Our Meeting Format

Our meeting format is a sharing circle, but you do not have to share if you don’t feel like doing so. The atmosphere is casual.

We realize that first meetings can be difficult and emotional, and we ask that you try 2-3 meetings to decide if The Compassionate Friends® is right for you.

We truly regret that we do not have accommodations for younger children; however, teenagers and older children are welcome.
